My DVD Rack is an all in one DVD database system for your Palm. My DVD Rack allows you to keep track of your DVD library with complete details for every DVD. The program is very complete and easy to use. The program is so straight forward even a novice should be able to make their way around the program.

You create records for each DVD in your collection and add as much data about the DVD as you wish. You choose a category (i.e. comedy, drama, action, etc.), starring actors, and even whether the DVD is owned, rented, borrowed etc. You can give each DVD a rating from 1-6 and even enter info such as date of purchase, price, run time, etc. There are a whole host of things you can track including:

  • Dolby AC-3
  • DTS
  • Widscreen
  • Movie Trailer
  • Collector's Edition
  • Color
  • Subtitle
  • Pan & Scan
  • Box Set

One of my favorite features is tracking which DVDs you've loaned out and who you've loaned them to. This is very handy as I'm always loaning my DVD's to friends and relatives and in many cases, have to fight to get them back. You can easily show only loaned DVDs so you'll know right away which DVD's in your library are "out".

Some suggestions for future versions of My DVD Rack include better searching. There is a place to search the actor's names, but in order to search by title you essentially have to "view all" records, and enter a title in a search space given. What if you don't know the exact title? I couldn't find a way to search by partial title.

Another suggestion I'd make is to make the category drop down list larger. When you choose a category to view you can only see 4 categories at a time. You have to arrow up and down in the drop down menu which is not the best in my opinion.

Overall I'd give My DVD Rack a very positive review. The program is complete and easy to use and at a price of $9.99, well worth the money! Best of all, you can purchase it right here at pdaBlast! Just use the link below.
